Mark Miner - Lead Guitar
Mark Miner began playing guitar where he grew up in Grass Valley in the late 80's. With the assistance of his first guitar teachers and support from his parents, Mark was in love with playing guitar from the beginning. Mark began playing in high school bands with friends and later in the Sacramento scene throughout the 90's and in the 2000's. After working in music retail for several years, Mark began to pursue his love of teaching private guitar lessons. He currently teaches close to 60 students per week! Forever the student himself Mark studied and continues to pursue his music studies in both college courses and taking private lessons when his busy schedule allows. Mark has a high regard for all types of music and musicians of various styles. A rocker at heart, his main influence has always been Randy Rhoads. Mark even took lessons where Randy taught privately at Musonia School of Music on his frequent visits to Los Angeles. The lessons did not come from Rhoads himself, but former students of his. He also sights Gary Moore, John Sykes, Paul Gilbert, Ywngie Malmsteen and others as influences and inspirations. "The list goes forever" he says. "I just like to play, period. If it were about the money I would have quit years ago. The music business is unfortunately only about 5% music and 95% business. You have to really love that 5% by giving it your 100%". As VLS continues to evolve, Mark continues to write and co-write with his partners in the band while always being an entertaining showman as well. Flash - Drums Under Construction
Sikki Lynn - Bass
Sikki started playin guitar when he was 15, influenced by the likes of Kiss, Motley Crue Alice Cooper. Livin In L.A. in the early 80's was when he really wanted to be in a band. It wasn't till he was 21 or so that the call of the wild made him a Bass Player, "Too much competition between guitarists" I dove into the Nikki Sixx, Gene Simmions role and never looked back. He has never been into fads or latest styles of bass playin, and as a Keep it Simple Stupid approach to his playin. I am not into finger tappin or shit that has nothing to do with my personal ego, I like to zone and and groove with the Drummer. It's about a song. Upon catching a Nikki Sixx pick at Conocitite Resort show , Sikki felt his mentor was sayin Be a "Rock Star." My notable quoteable, Music is fashion not about lookin like a retarded construction worker, it should be sexy eye candy for people to enjoy and let go and forget their problems, we see boring people everyday in our lives. Let go and have fun. |
